The second CIRCOM – MTVA Mobile Journalism Challenge - an exclusive and unique opportunity for CIRCOM member journalists – will take place in Budapest.
CIRCOM and MTVA will host 22 journalists in Budapest, from 4 to 11 October 2015, taking part in the second competition for mobile journalists. Apart from organizing the workshops, MTVA will also provide trainers, four participants and a jury member for the MoJo Challenge 2015.
There are two categories in the competition: the Beginners course is a 5-day workshop for 11 beginners to mobile journalism and will include 3 days of training.
The second category - Advanced - is for the more experienced Mojos. The 11 journalists will also attend a 5 day workshop and will have the opportunity to look at the latest developments in mobile journalism, participate in storytelling sessions and exchange knowledge with time allocated for research before filming.
Using only iPhones for shooting and iPhones or iPads for editing, the delegates will be required to make a 2’00 – 3’00 minute news stories about Hungarian topics.
CIRCOM and MTVA are grateful that once again the Mojo Challenge will be supported by the European Parliament’s Citizenship project.
2015 brings new sponsors to the competition: Shoulderpod and Olloclip will be providing some of their outstanding products for the participants and the winners of the Mobile Journalism Challenge.
Twenty two journalists representing 11 countries are taking part in the Challenge. The stories they produce, filmed and edited on their smartphones, will be viewed and judged by a team of international experts and the winners and commended stories will receive either cash or prizes provided by CIRCOM, Shoulderpod and Olloclip. The event will close with an awards ceremony and reception at the MTVA Headquaters in Budapest on Saturday 10th October.
The final stories produced by the journalists will be available for all CIRCOM members for broadcast.
