A Dal 2015 call for songs
MTVA, the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund and MTV, Hungarian Television are once again looking for the song which may represent Hungary at the biggest music event in Europe, the Eurovision Song Contest. MTVA has now published the rules for submission enabling artists to apply for the Hungarian national final, A Dal. Artists from outside Hungary are welcome to send their application but their submission will only be accepted if the performer is a Hungarian citizen or speaks fluent Hungarian. Furthermore the performer has to fulfil all the requirements of the call.
Lyrics of the submitted songs may not only be in Hungarian but also in English and in any language of the official national and ethnic minorities living in Hungary. In any case the application has to include the Hungarian translation of the lyrics.
A Dal will once again help to select the song that may represent Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest and aims to find new and high quality songs from Hungary with the help of a professional jury and the audience. The previous three editions of the live show series have proved that the Hungarian music scene needs such a platform in order to introduce artists, bands and composers to a larger audience and to provide them a chance to compete internationally as well. With A Dal the Hungarian public service media have managed to create a new tradition in the search for the song representing Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest. The live shows will take place at the beginning of next year, exact dates are to be announced in due time.
